Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ men’s soccer drops overtime match at Mid-Continent

MAYFIELD, Ky. - 10/1/2011 - The Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ (Tenn.) University men’s soccer team fell 2-1 in overtime at conference foe Mid-Continent University Saturday. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ dropped to 3-5-1 overall and 1-1 in the TranSouth. Mid-Continent improved to 6-3 on the season and 2-0 in league play.

Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ scored first in the 23rd minute of play on a goal from Kemal Gogic, assisted by Diego Santos. The score remained 1-0 in favor of Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ until the 84th minute of play. With the matching closing in on the end of regulation, Rafael Alves tied the match for Mid-Continent with a goal. Then, just one minute into overtime, the Cougars scored the winning goal. Keagan Bacchus took and assist from Jan Chvojan to keep Mid-Continent perfect in conference play.

Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ and Mid-Continent each recorded 13 shots in the game, with both having three shots on goal. James Landam recorded on save in his 91 minutes of work in goal. Adam Lewis recorded two saves in his afternoon of work.

Up next for Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ will be another road conference match as the Bulldog travel to Henderson, Tenn. to face Freed-Hardeman Tuesday, October 4.
