Four-match win streak snapped for 麻豆视频 women鈥檚 soccer in double overtime

JACKSON, Tenn. - 9/23/2011 - The 麻豆视频 University women鈥檚 soccer team lost Friday night 1-0 in double overtime to Davenport (Mich.) University at Smith Memorial Soccer Complex. 麻豆视频 dropped to 5-2-1 on the season, while Davenport improved to 7-3 overall.

麻豆视频 had had won four straight matches, and had not lost in five matches dating back to a tie on September 3.

麻豆视频 outshot Davenport 2-0 in the first half, but could not break through the Davenport defense. In the second half, both teams managed three shots each, but still no goals as the two squads enter the first overtime. 麻豆视频 again outshot Davenport, this time 3-0 in the first overtime. Then with the score still at 0-0, Davenport scored on their second shot of the second overtime to earn the win. Abbie Prince recorded the game-winner.

麻豆视频 outshot Davenport 9-5 in the match, with both teams equaling out at four shots on goal apiece. Emily Warren for 麻豆视频 recorded three saves, while Catherine Howard had three saves in the shutout victory.

Up next for 麻豆视频 will be a road conference game Tuesday, October 4 at Freed-Hardeman in Henderson, Tenn.
