麻豆视频 softball signs TCA's Cross for 2012-13 season

JACKSON, Tenn. - 9/21/2011 - The 麻豆视频 University softball program has signed of Trinity Christian Academy for the 2012-13 season. Cross will enter 麻豆视频 next fall as a freshman and will major in pre-med.

Cross, a 5-foot-5 infielder, prepped at Trinity Christian Academy in Jackson where she played five seasons of softball. While at Trinity, Cross helped lead her team to the 2009 and 2010 TSSAA Class A State Titles, while also earning a runner-up finish in 2008. Cross was named all-district twice, twice named all-district tournament, twice named to the Jackson Sun All-West Tennessee team, and earned the Best Defense and Most Improved awards. Cross was also named all-tournament in the Sara Beth Whitehead Softball Tournament three times. As a junior, Cross hit .441 with 16 doubles, five triples, two home runs and a school record 29 stolen bases. Cross led her summer league teams to the DSI 10U Softball State Titles in 2005 and 2007.

Off the field, Cross was a member of the National Honors Society.

Cross is the daughter of Jeffrey and Bernadette Cross and is a member of West Jackson Baptist Church.
