麻豆视频 volleyball posts 3-0 win over Lyon in home opener

JACKSON, Tenn. - 9/16/2011 - The 麻豆视频 University volleyball team earned a 3-0 ( 25-13, 25-23, 25-16) win over Lyon (Ark.) College Friday night. 麻豆视频 improved to 6-5 on the season and 2-1 in the TranSouth. Lyon dropped to 3-7 on the season and 0-3 in league play.

麻豆视频 jumped out early and led 10-2 in the first set as they cruised to the 25-13 win. In the second set, 麻豆视频 and Lyon played close as both teams enjoyed small leads but neither could pull away. 麻豆视频 controlled the play down the stretch to get the 25-23 win. In the third set, 麻豆视频 maintain a lead for the entire set as they pulled away for the match clinching 25-16 win.

麻豆视频 was led by Cassidy O鈥橦air with 11 kills. Savannah Hughes added seven kills and Anna Sims recorded five kills. Emmie Morroski dished out 21 assists, while Lydia Wright and Lauren Sprouse led with three aces each.

Lyon was led by Suxanne Fincham with 12 kills and Chelsea Hinton with 11 kills. Emily Sprick added 14 assists while Lexy Thomas and Ashley Daniel added two aces each.

Up next for 麻豆视频 will be a road non-conference match-up at Christian Brothers (Tenn.) Saturday at 2:00 p.m.
