麻豆视频 women's soccer tops Delta State 4-1

JACKSON, Tenn. - 9/7/2011 - The 麻豆视频 (Tenn.) University women's soccer team defeated Delta State (Miss.) University 4-1 on Wednesday afternoon to improved to 2-1-1 on the young season. Delta State dropped to 0-3.

For 麻豆视频, this match marked their fourth straight road contest to open the 2011 season. 麻豆视频 has one more road match on Saturday at Missouri Baptist, before playing their home opener versus Lyon (Ark.) on Friday, September 16.

麻豆视频 scored first in the contest on a goal from Whitney Kramer, assisted by Emily Crane, in the 30th minute. 麻豆视频 led 1-0 at the half and quickly made the score 2-0 just nine minutes into the second half. 麻豆视频's Christina Reardon scored on an assist from Ashlie Watson.

Delta State answered as they tried to stay in the match. Less than a minute after 麻豆视频 made the score 2-0, Meredith Wilkes scored off a rebound to give the Lady Statesmen their only goal of the match.

The score remained 2-1 in favor of 麻豆视频 until the 75th minute when Eboni Murphy scored on an assist from Kramer. 麻豆视频 added the final goal in the 88th minute when Watson scored on an assist by Reardon.

麻豆视频 outshot the Lady Statesmen 18-6 in the match.
