麻豆视频 women鈥檚 soccer opens season with shutout win

JACKSON, Tenn. - 8/27/2011 - The 麻豆视频 (Tenn.) University women鈥檚 soccer team opened the 2011 season with a 2-0 win on the road versus Reinhardt (Ga.) College. It was the season opener for both 麻豆视频 and Reinhardt.

麻豆视频 and Reinhardt played a scoreless first half, with 麻豆视频 dominating the shot total 12-3 in the first 45 minutes. In the second half, the shots evened out at 6-6. However, it was 麻豆视频 making theirs count. Ashley Watson scored both goals for 麻豆视频, the first coming at the 50:48 mark of the match and the insurance goal in the 85th minute. Eboni Murphy and Christina Reardon recorded the assist on Watson鈥檚 two goals respectively.

Emily Warren earned the shutout in net with six saves in her 90 minutes of work . Chelsea Betts played all 90 minutes in goal for Reinhardt, allowing the two goals and recording seven saves.

Up next for 麻豆视频 will be a match on Tuesday, August 30 at NCAA Division I opponent, Austin Peay (Tenn.) University.
