Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµâ€™s Copley named NAIA Scholar Athlete

JACKSON, Tenn. - 6/2/2011 - of Dyer, Tenn. and a senior on the Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ (Tenn.) University baseball team has been named an NAIA Scholar Athlete. To be named a scholar athlete, a student athlete must be a junior or senior with at least a 3.5 GPA.

Copley, 6-foot-3 pitcher, was 1-1 on the season in four starts, but suffered a season ending injury during the first month of play. Over his career at Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ, Copley has a 9-3 record with a 4.88 ERA with one save. He has tallied 75 strikeouts to just 31 walks in 83 total innings. Copley has been named a first team all-conference player, TranSouth Pitcher of the Week, TranSouth Scholar Athlete and NAIA Scholar Athlete during his career at Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ.

Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ captured their second conference tournament title in the past three seasons and advanced to the NAIA National Championships Opening Round for the third straight season. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ was 38-17 overall and 16-8 in the TranSouth.
