Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ's Hayes, Lamb softball All-Americans, Bozza scholar athlete

JACKSON, Tenn. - 5/26/2011 - The Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ (Tenn.) University softball team had three players to collect NAIA postseason honors for their efforts in 2011. Amber Hayes was named a second team All-American, Shelby Lamb was an honorable mentioned All-American, while Ali Bozza was named an NAIA Scholar Athlete.

, a 5-foot-9 senior from Brighton, Tenn., adds this honor to her first team all-conference selection this season. Hayes led Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ with a .439 average, 83 total hits and five triples. She added 45 runs scored, 15 doubles, eight home runs and 53 RBI. She also stole five bases on the season. Hayes is the first All-American softball player for Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ since the 2007 season (Ashley Walters).

, a 5-foot-5 freshman from Shelbyville, Tenn., was also a first team all-conference player this season. She led Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ with 10 home runs and 55 RBI on the season. Lamb hit .416, scored 27 runs, had 74 hits, 15 doubles and stole four bases in her first season at Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ.

, a 5-foot-7 junior from Jackson, hit .253 and played several positions for Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ including outfield, second base and pitch runner. Bozza had here doubles, a home run and 12 RBI with 13 stolen bases. To be named an NAIA Scholar Athlete, a student-athlete must be a junior or a senior with at least a 3.5 GPA.
