Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ men’s soccer adds Hendersonville’s Scogin

JACKSON, Tenn. - 5/20/2011 - The Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ (Tenn.) University men’s soccer team has signed of Hendersonville, Tenn. Scogin will enter Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ this fall as a freshman and will major in physical training.

Scogin, a 5-foot-8 striker, prepped at Beech (Tenn.) High School where he played soccer and ran cross country. In soccer, he was named first team all-county twice, all-district, all-mid state and Offensive MVP. Scogin was the leading scorer at Beech for three consecutive seasons. He scored 33 goals in three seasons of high school soccer, while also adding 19 goals as a senior on this club team. Scogin's club team posted a third place finish in the state tournament as a senior. Scogin was also named Best Newcomer on his cross country team as a freshman.

Off the field, Scogin was a member of the Beta Club and Junior Classical League.

Scogin is the son of John Scogin and Jhonna Ghrigsby. He is a member of Hendersonville First Baptist Church.
