麻豆视频 has 25 spring athletes named TranSouth Scholars

JACKSON, Tenn. - 4/29/2011 - The 麻豆视频 (Tenn.) University spring athletic teams were well represented on the TranSouth Scholar Athlete lists. 麻豆视频鈥檚 baseball, softball and men鈥檚 golf team combined for 24 total scholars. TranSouth Scholar Athletes are students athletes that are sophomores, juniors or seniors with at least a 3.0 GPA.

The 麻豆视频 softball team led the way with 11 players honors. Ali Bozza, Brittany Burkett, Katie Davis, Hailee Edwards, Samantha Geisler, Caroline George, Amber Hayes, Keaton Kirk, Stephanie Saunders, Tobie Joy and Brooke Thomas were named ().

The 麻豆视频 men鈥檚 golf team has seven players to make the grade. On the list were Brett Barry, Matt Kelley, Ryan Mantooth, Ben Waits, Micah Gentle, Jake Carroll and Tyler Lay ().

Seven baseball players earned the honor including Jared Davis, David Leisey, Danny Grimm, Kian Jost, Doug Joyce, Derek Copley and Matt Fike ().

All three of these teams are getting set to compete in their respective conference tournaments next week. 麻豆视频 baseball will host the TranSouth Tournament at Fesmire Field here on 麻豆视频鈥檚 campus. 麻豆视频 softball will travel to Henderson, Tenn. for the conference tournament as the No. 2 seed. The golf team will attempt to defend their conference tournament title from last season as they play in Blytheville, Arkansas next week.
