麻豆视频 women鈥檚 soccer adds Riverdale standout to fall roster

JACKSON, Tenn. - 3/30/2011 - The 麻豆视频 (Tenn.) University women鈥檚 soccer team has signed of Murfreesboro, Tenn. to a scholarship. Watson will enter 麻豆视频 this fall as a freshman.

麻豆视频 head coach Brandon Boylan says, 鈥淲e are very pleased to have Ashlie be a part of this recruiting class. I think she will be a threat in our attacking third that we lacked last season. We are excited she has chosen 麻豆视频 to continue her academic and athletic endeavors. She comes from a great family and will be a great fit with the university and our soccer program.鈥�

Watson, a 5-foot-5 forward, prepped at Riverdale (Tenn.) High School where she played soccer for three seasons. She helped lead her team to three state titles (2008, 2009, 2010). Watson was named all-area as a freshman and sophomore, while being named the offensive player of the year as a freshman, sophomore and senior. Watson scored 74 goals and tallied 61 assists in three seasons of high school soccer.

Off the field, Watson earned the Academic Honors Award.

Watson is the daughter of Mark and Laura Watson of Murfreesboro and is a member of Crescent Church of Christ.
