Jackson, Tenn. - 10/30/2001 - Brian Dunn recorded his 400th combined career victory as Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµâ€™s volleyball and softball coach. This milestone victory came on Monday night as the Lady Bulldog volleyball team defeated cross-town rival Lambuth. He is 137-30 as volleyball head coach and 263-56 as the softball head coach. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ is currently 24-1 on the season and is tied for first in the TranSouth Conference standings.
Brian Dunn is coaching in his fourth season of volleyball at Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ after leading the Lady Bulldogs to their second straight regular season conference title and second consecutive NAIA Region XI Tournament appearance. The Lady Bulldogs have already won their fourth straight NCCAA MidEast Region Championship earn a spot in this weekends NCCAA National Tournament.
Dunn has led the Lady Bulldogs softball program to a 263-56 record over the past five years. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ softball has accomplished four straight seasons with 50 plus wins along with four straight Top 10 rankings in the NAIA. The Lady Dogs have earned three consecutive TranSouth Conference Championships and two MidSouth Region Championships. Last season, Dunn led Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ to their second ever NAIA Softball World Series where the Lady Bulldogs finished third. Also in 2000, Dunn led Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ to the NCCAA National Softball Championship.
During his four-year tenure at Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ, Dunn has coached 35 all-conference, 26 all-region, 13 All-American, and 18 scholar athlete award winners. Dunn has earned 15 coach of the year awards including being named the 1998 NCCAA National Softball Coach of the Year.
Dunn is a 1989 graduate of San Diego State University, where he helped lead the baseball team to a Western Athletic Conference Championship and a Top 25 national ranking. His coaching career began at Riverside High School in Parsons, Tennessee where he led the Lady Panther softball team to their first appearance in the state tournament.
