HATTIESBURG, Miss. - 2/22/2011 - The No. 16 Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ (Tenn.) University baseball team posted an 11-3 win at William Carey (Miss.) College. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ stays perfect on the season as they move to 9-0. William Carey dropped to 6-6.
Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ opened the game with a run in the top of the first inning. Bryan Hill’s single drove in Clint Barnes who walked in his first at bat. William Carey responded to take the lead in the bottom of the second inning with a pair of runs.
Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ answered back with three runs in the third and fourth innings, followed by four runs in the fifth to extend their lead to 11-3. Cole McAdams had a 2-RBI double in the third. Hill added two more RBI in the fourth on a single. Brett Pawlen’s 2-RBI double, followed by a 2-RBI hit from Kian Jost highlighted the fifth.
Hill and RJ Rayborn led Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ with three hits each. Hill and Jost led with three RBI each, while Barnes led with three runs scored. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ pounded out 12 hits in the game.
Derek Roof (2-0) tossed six innings for the win. He allowed three run on six hits while striking out three hitters. Justin Bryan tossed the final three innings for the save, allowing just two hits, no runs and posting one strike out.
