JACKSON, Tenn. - 2/1/2011 - Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ (Tenn.) University senior guard has passed another milestone in her record-setting career. In Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµâ€™s win on January 27, 2011, Hudson passed 1,500 points for her career.
Hudson, a 5-foot-8 senior guard from Gleason, Tenn., has 1,506 points through 133 games played. She is averaging 11.3 points per game for her career, but is having her best season this year, averaging 15.9 points per game.
During her career, Hudson has started every game for Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ. The Lady Bulldogs are 129-4 during Hudson’s career. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ has also been ranked No. 1 in the NAIA in every game that Hudson has played. The 42 straight No. 1 rankings for Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ dates back to the 2007 preseason poll, Hudson’s freshman year.
Early in her career, Hudson was more of a point guard who dished out assists at a record pace. As a junior, Hudson broke Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµâ€™s all-time assists record. She continues to add to that mark with 729 assists for her career. Hudson has now taken on more of a scoring role. Hudson leads Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ with 71 made three pointers and is shooting 47 percent from behind the arc. She remains the team’s assists leader with 4.9 per game.
Hudson ranks No. 3 in the NAIA in three pointer made (71), No. 3 in assist/turnover ratio (2.6), No. 4 in three pointers made per game (3.4) and No. 6 in 3-point percentage (.467).
Hudson has been named to the all-conference team and NAIA All-American team in each of her previous three seasons. She has helped Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ to a 21-0 record this year. Hudson has been a key part in Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµâ€™s back-to-back national titles in 2009 and 2010.
