NASHVILLE, Tenn. - 1/17/2011 - of Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ (Tenn.) University has been selected as the TranSouth Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week for the week ending Sunday, January 16, 2011. This is the tenth weekly basketball award this season for the TranSouth. Hudson was also selected for the award on November 29, 2010.
Hudson, a 5-foot-8 senior guard from Gleason, Tenn., led the No. 1 Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ Lady Bulldogs to a 2-0 week. The All-American performer averaged 26.5 points, 3.5 rebounds and four steals per game for the week. She shot 15-30 (50%) from the field, 8-18 (44%) from three-point range and 15-16 (93.8%) from the foul line. In a 65-52 TranSouth conference win at #RV Lyon (Ark.), Hudson scored 26 points. She added 27 with seven rebounds and eight assists in a 76-65 win over No. 5 Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.).
The senior is No. 2 in the NAIA for three point baskets made, No. 6 in assist/turnover ratio, and No. 7 in three-point field goal percentage. She has scored 20 or more points in five straight games, including a career-high 29 last week.
Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ, ranked No. 1, is 17-0 this season and have won 22 straight games, 55 consecutive in TranSouth regular season play.
