No. 1 麻豆视频 pushes winning streak to 21 straight

BATESVILLE, Ark. - 1/13/2011 - The No. 1 麻豆视频 (Tenn.) University women鈥檚 basketball team posted a 65-52 win at Lyon (Ark.) College. 麻豆视频 improved to 16-0 on the season and 3-0 in the TranSouth with their 21st straight victory dating back to last season. Lyon, who is receiving votes in the NAIA rankings, dropped to 10-5 overall and 2-1 in league play.

The win for 麻豆视频 also marked their 54th straight TranSouth regular season win and 24th straight win on the road.

麻豆视频 scored first and jumped out to a quick 12-3 lead on the Lyon Scots. 麻豆视频 matched that nine point lead several times early in the half, before Lyon began to rally. The Scots cut the 麻豆视频 lead down to just three points, 22-19, with 6:08 left in the half. However, 麻豆视频 outscored Lyon 12-3 over the final six minutes to lead 34-22 at the half.

In the second half, 麻豆视频 maintained a comfortable double-digit lead. Lyon got as close as 10 points, while 麻豆视频 led by as many as 16 points on three different occasions in the second half.

麻豆视频鈥檚 Kayla Hudson led all scorers with 26 points, including four three pointers. Lavanda Ross scored 13 points, Hope Adams added 12 points and Sarah Chan scored 10 points. 麻豆视频 shot 41 percent from the field, 31 percent (4-13) from three point range and 52 percent (13-25) from the free throw line.

Lyon was led by K.K. Hodges and Christine Smith with 13 points each. Smith was 4-for-4 from behind the arc. Suzanne Fincham led with a game-high 10 rebounds. Lyon shot 35 percent from the field, 39 percent (7-18) from behind the arc and 55 percent (11-20) from the free throw line.

Up next for 麻豆视频 will be a home contest versus No. 5 Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.) on Saturday at 2:00 p.m.
