JACKSON, Tenn. - 1/11/2011 - The 麻豆视频 (Tenn.) University basketball teams are both ranked in the latest NAIA rankings. The 麻豆视频 ladies hold the No. 1 spot for a record 40th straight poll, dating back to the preseason poll of 2007. The 麻豆视频 men dropped one spot to No. 17 in this week鈥檚 poll.
The 麻豆视频 women have won 20 straight games overall and have won 53 straight TranSouth regular season games. The Lady Bulldogs will put those two streaks, along with a 23-game road winning streak on the line on Thursday when 麻豆视频 travels to Lyon (Ark.). This past week, 麻豆视频 posted two wins, including a 77-56 win at No. 10 Bethel and a come-from-behind win against Martin Methodist (Tenn.) 87-73. In 麻豆视频鈥檚 15 games, 麻豆视频 has held their opponents to fewer than 70 points 11 times. Recently, three 麻豆视频 players have reached significant milestones, including Sarah Chan (1,500 career points), Lavanda Ross (1,000) career points and Kayla Hudson (700 career assists).
On the men鈥檚 side, 麻豆视频 went 2-1 last week, but had their nine-game winning streak snapped when No. 6 Martin Methodist (Tenn.) rallied to take the Bulldogs 73-62.
The 麻豆视频 teams will play at Lyon (Ark.) on Thursday before hosting Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.) on Saturday, January 15.
