Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµâ€™s Chan earns second straight TranSouth honor

JACKSON, Tenn. - 12/14/2010 - of Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ (Tenn.) University is the TranSouth Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week for the week ending December 12, 2010. For Chan, this is her second consecutive week to receive the weekly award and third straight for a Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ women’s player to earn the honor.

Chan, a 6-foot-4 senior center from Arange City, Sudan, helped Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ to a 2-0 week with wins over a pair of ranked teams. In a home win over No. 21 Shorter College she scored a career-high 30 points and grabbed 12 rebounds. In a road win at No. 4 Campbellsville the senior scored a new career-high 31 points and grabbed 14 rebounds. These two double-doubles extended her total to six on the season, including five straight.

Chan averaged 30.5 points and 13 rebounds per game on the week. Chan shot 25-46 (54%) from the field and hit 11-12 (92%) from the foul line. She has scored double figures in each game this season, including at least 22 points in her last six games.

Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ is 12-0 and are ranked No. 1 for the 39th straight poll in the latest NAIA Women's Basketball Division 1 Top 25.
