VANCOUVER, Wash. - 11/20/2010 - The Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ (Tenn.) University men’s and women’s cross country teams competed in the 2010 NAIA Cross Country National Championships in Vancouver, Washington. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµâ€™s men placed 28th, while the women placed 29th in the 32 team event.
In the men’s results, Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ ran the 8K event with a team score of 2:19:40 for an average of 27:56. Alex Bett was the top Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ runner with a 39th place finish (25:58). Edwin Kurgat finished 114th (27:06), Zach Covington finished 167th (27:57), Joel Wellum finished 205th (29:08), Drake Ott finished 208th (29:31), Dan Ramer finished 209th (29:41), Caleb Creel finished 211th (30:02).
Southern Oregon won the men’s title with an overall time of 2:07:37 (25:32), while Kennedy Kithuka of Wayland Baptist (Texas) took the top individual spot with a time of 24:02.
In the women’s results, Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ ran the 5K event with a team score of 1:45:54 for an average of 21:11. Allison Martin was the highest Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ finisher with a 166th place finish (20:41). Ashlee Stewart finished 180th (21:08), Kayla House finished 182nd (21:11), Carrie Moore finished 185th (21:21), Hannah Clardy finished 190th (21:33), Lilli Harmon finished 195th (21:52), and Carissa Wilson finished 205th (22:38).
Cal State San Marcos won the women’s title with an overall time of 1:32:44 (18:33), while Erin Curran of Black Hills State (S.D.) took the top individual spot with a time of 17:52.
