Late free throws lift No. 21 Life over No. 10 麻豆视频

JACKSON, Tenn. - 11/16/2010 - The No. 10 麻豆视频 (Tenn.) University men鈥檚 basketball fell at home to No. 21 Life (Ga.) University 63-61. 麻豆视频 dropped to 3-1 on the season, while Life improved to 4-1.

麻豆视频 rallied back from 10 points down early in the second half to tie the game at 61-61 with 16 seconds left. 麻豆视频 forced a miss by Life, but a jump ball gave possession back to the Eagles. With point-four second left, a foul call on 麻豆视频 on the in-bounds gave Life the opportunity to take the late lead.

James Hooper for the Eagles sank both free throws in a one-and-one situation to give Life the 63-61 lead. A last second three pointer from Stan McNeil of 麻豆视频 rimmed out at the buzzer.

麻豆视频 trailed 33-26 at the half and the was down by as many as 10 points (36-26) at the 17:17:28 mark of the second half. 麻豆视频 inched closer and with just over nine minutes to play, McNeil鈥檚 layup tied the game at 49-49. Life quickly jumped back up by six points, before 麻豆视频 tied the game again at 59-59 with 3:25 left.

With 16 seconds left, 麻豆视频鈥檚 CJ Davis tied the game for the last time at 61-61 to set up the final moments of the game.

麻豆视频 never led in the game and forced just one tie in the first half at 9-9. 麻豆视频 trailed by as many as nine points in the first half.

麻豆视频 was led by Davis with 22 points. Roland Banhoro added a double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds. Antoine Joseph grabbed 12 rebounds. 麻豆视频 shot 35 percent from the field, 25 percent (5-20) from behind the arc, 76 percent (16-21) from the free throw line.

Life was led by Tony Reese with 15 points and Pete Driver with 12 points. Eight players scored at least four points for Life. The Eagles shot 36 percent from the field, 22 percent (5-23) from three-point range and 71 percent (10-14) from the free throw line.

Up next for 麻豆视频 will be the third game in a stretch of eight straight versus team ranked or receiving votes in the NAIA polls. 麻豆视频 will travel to William Carey (Miss.) on Saturday, November 20.
