Â鶹ÊÓƵ baseball No. 16 in NAIA preseason polls, picked second in the TranSouth

JACKSON, Tenn. - 11/16/2010 - The Â鶹ÊÓƵ (Tenn.) University baseball team is ranked No. 16 in the NAIA Preseason Rankings. Â鶹ÊÓƵ finished last season with a 42-17 record and runner-up in the TranSouth regular season and tournament.

Â鶹ÊÓƵ also advanced to their second straight NAIA National Championships Opening Round in which the Bulldogs went 1-2.

Â鶹ÊÓƵ was also voted second in the TranSouth Preseason Poll voted on by the coaches. Â鶹ÊÓƵ was 14-5 last season in their second place finish behind Cumberland (Tenn.). Â鶹ÊÓƵ was the only team to defeat Cumberland in their final 30 games of the season.

Cumberland, the reigning conference and NAIA National Champion, was voted to repeat in the TranSouth. They also earned the top spot in the NAIA rankings.

Â鶹ÊÓƵ’s 2011 baseball season will begin on Friday, February 4 versus Clarke (Iowa).
