Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ to Battle Diamond Jaxx in Exhibition Game

Jackson, Tenn. - 4/1/2003 - The Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ University baseball team will pause a moment from their season to play an exhibition game against the West Tenn Diamond Jaxx. The Diamond Jaxx are the Double-A affiliate of the Chicago Cubs. Pringles Park will be the site on Wednesday, April 2 at 7:05 p.m. for the second ever meeting between Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ and the Diamond Jaxx.

Admission for the game will be $1 with all proceeds going to the Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ Athletic Department.

The only other meeting with the Diamond Jaxx occurred exactly two years ago on April 2, 2001. Diamond Jaxx hurler, Ben Christensen pitched for the Bulldogs. Behind his performance, Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ topped the Diamond Jaxx 2-1 in the six inning exhibition. Current Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ players Roger Cook and Matt Glass each tallied hits in that game. Cook, a former USJ standout, went 2-for-3 and Matt Glass, of Metropolis, Ill., recorded one hit in two at-bats.
