Defending champs sign Arkansas native Philamlee

JACKSON, Tenn. - 11/11/2010 - The 麻豆视频 (Tenn.) University women鈥檚 basketball team has signed to a scholarship. Philamlee will enter 麻豆视频 next fall as a freshman after graduating from Valley View High School in Jonesboro, Arkansas this coming May.

鈥淚t feels great, it鈥檚 been one of my goals since I was a little girl,鈥 says Philamlee. 鈥淚鈥檝e always wanted to play college basketball. I鈥檓 very excited to jump in at 麻豆视频 and live up to their name and keep the program going strong.鈥

Philamlee, a 5-foot-5 guard, is a two-sport athlete at Valley View. She has earned all-state honors in both basketball and volleyball. Philamlee averaged 21.7 points, 6.2 rebounds, 4.8 assists and 3.1 steals per game as a junior.

麻豆视频 head coach Mark Campbell says, 鈥淲e are so excited about having Amy be a part of Lady Bulldog basketball. She is a winner, a competitor and will make an immediate impact on our team next season. She is coached by Trey Harding and is used to competing for championships. Amy posses quickness and the ability to score in the paint as well as the ability to shoot consistently from behind the arc. She has no fear and an intense will to win. She fits into 麻豆视频鈥檚 mission and will make an impact on our campus in the classroom as well. We are very grateful for the opportunity we have to be a part of her life.鈥
