JACKSON, Tenn. - 11/1/2010 - The Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ (Tenn.) University men’s soccer team swept the TranSouth Conference men’s soccer offensive and defensive players of the week. Guilherme Reis was named the offensive player of the week, while Rainer Hauss earned the defensive honors.
Reis, a 6-foot sophomore forward, earned a hat trick in Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµâ€™s 3-1 win over Trevecca Nazarene (Tenn.). This was the first hat trick of his career, helping Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ to solidify a spot the conference tournament.
Hauss, a 5-foot-11 goalkeeper from Belo Horizonte, Brazil, had six saves in a 1-1 week. Hauss played all 180 minutes in the two matches. In his loss, he gave up one goal at Bethel (Tenn.) who is receiving votes in the NAIA and top team in the TranSouth. He helped Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ to a 3-1 win against Trevecca to solidify a spot in the conference tournament. In that match, Hauss held a shut-out for 85 minutes.
Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ is 13-4 overall and finished 4-3 in the TranSouth Conference. Up next will be the first round of the conference tournament on Saturday, Nov. 6.
