JACKSON, Tenn. - 11/1/2010 - Heather Lieberman of the Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ (Tenn.) University volleyball team has been named the TranSouth Conference volleyball Player of the Week. This award is for the week ending October 31, 2010.
Lieberman, a 5-foot-8 outside hitter from Rochester, N.Y., led Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ's attack in a pair of conference sweeps that clinched the regular season championship for the Lady Bulldogs. In a 3-0 win over Trevecca Nazarene (Tenn.) University, she posted a double-double with 10 kills and 13 digs. She followed with 13 kills on 19 attempts and six digs in a sweep of Mid-Continent (Ky.) University.
For the week, Lieberman averaged 3.8 kills and 3.2 digs per set while posting a .400 hitting percentage.
Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ, which is 20-7 overall and 11-1 in conference play, won their fourth TranSouth Regular Season Title (1999, 2000, 2004, 2010).
Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ has two road conference matches this week at Cumberland (Tenn.) and at Martin Methodist (Tenn.). The TranSouth Conference Tournament is Nov. 8-10 in Henderson, Tenn.
