Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ women’s soccer plays to scoreless tie in final home match

JACKSON, Tenn. - 10/23/2010 - The Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ (Tenn.) University women’s soccer team played to a scoreless double overtime tie against Reinhardt (Ga.) College in their final regular season home match of 2010. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ is now 7-5-2 on the season, while Reinhardt is now 5-7-3 overall.

Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ and Reinhardt played a non-eventful first half as both teams combined for just seven total shots (4-3 Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ). In the second half, Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ stepped up the offense with a 13-5 shot advantage, but neither team could find the back of the net. In the two overtimes, Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ outshot Reinhardt 4-1 and ended the match with a 21-9 shot advantage. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ also led the shots on goal tally 9-6.

Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ's Kelly Bogdanovich led with four shots, including three on goal.

Both teams has several close calls, including a shot by Reinhardt’s Katherine Amatulli with just two minutes left in overtime that rolled just outside the post.

Sarah White record six saves in her 110 minutes of work in goal. Chelsea Bettis and Chelsey Torrance recorded two and seven saves respectively as they combined to keep Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ scoreless.

Up next for Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ will be a road conference game at Bethel (Tenn.) on Tuesday, Oct. 26 as 12:00 p.m.
