Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ women’s soccer falls 2-0 to No. 6 Martin Methodist

JACKSON, Tenn. - 10/19/2010 - The Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ (Tenn.) University women’s soccer team fell at home 2-0 to the NAIA’s No. 6 ranked Martin Methodist (Tenn.) College RedHawks. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ dropped to 7-5-1 overall and 1-2-1 in the TranSouth. Martin Methodist improved to 9-3-2 on the season and 6-0 in league play.

Martin Methodist scored in the 15th minute of play on a goal from Mor Efraim. The score remained 1-0 at the half. Martin Methodist out-shot Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ 7-2 in the first half.

In the second half, Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ kept the RedHawks close but could only put up three shots in the second half. Then with six minutes left in the match, Martin Methodist added a second goal as Nicole O’Donnell scored, assisted by Daniel Sofer.

Sarah White, the reigning TranSouth defensive player of the week played well as she held the RedHawks to just the two goals while recorded four saves. Hanit Schwartz had three saves in goal for Martin Methodist.

Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ was out-shot 15-8 in the game, including 6-3 in shots on goal.

Up next for Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ will be their final home match on Saturday, Oct. 23 versus Reinhardt (Ga.) at 1:00 p.m. This match will also be pink day and senior day for the Lady Bulldogs.
