Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ volleyball cruises past Trevecca Nazarene

JACKSON, Tenn. - 10/7/2010 - The Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ (Tenn.) University volleyball team cruised past TranSouth Conference foe Trevecca Nazarene (Tenn.) University 3-0 (25-17, 25-18, 25-10). Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ improved to 14-4 on the season and 7-0 in conference play. Trevecca Nazarene dropped to 12-12 overall and 4-5 in league play

The start of the first set had Trevecca and Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ playing close with the visiting Trojans taking a 9-6 early lead. However, Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ put together 14-3 rally to go up 20-11 before winning 25-17. In the second set, Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ jumped out to a 4-1 lead and never trailed as they pushed to the 25-18 win.

The third and final set was the most dominate for the Lady Bulldogs. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ led 3-0 and then 10-4 on their way to a 25-10 match-clinching win.

Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ was led by Heather Lieberman and Marcela Madeira with 10 kills each. Emmie Moroski added 29 assists, while Kelsey Duling led with 20 digs. Anna Sims led with four blocks.

Trevecca Nazarene was led by Maddie Buford with seven kills. Brooke Cannon handed out 19 assists.

Up next for Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ will be a home match on Tuesday, Oct. 12 when Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ faces Cumberland (Tenn.) on Cancer Awareness Night.
