Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ women’s soccer falls to Faulkner 3-1

JACKSON, Tenn. - 10/2/2010 - The Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ (Tenn.) University women’s soccer team dropped a non-conference contest to Faulkner (Ala.) University 3-1 on Saturday. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ dropped to 5-4 overall, while Faulkner improved to 10-2. Faulkner is receiving votes in the latest NAIA rankings.

It took just eight minutes for Faulkner to strike with the match’s first goal. Samantha Ruddick put the Eagles up 1-0. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ Grace Boto tied the match just eight minutes later with her third goal of the season. The match was tied 1-1 at the half. In the first minute of play out of the half, Jessica Monarch of Faulkner scored the game-winner. Cassie Wilcox, with an assist from Ruddick, gave Faulkner some insurance in the 80th minute as Faulkner won 3-1.

Sarah White recorded three saves, while Faulkner’s Caitlin Sebert recorded four saves. Faulkner outshot Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ 12-11 in the match and 6-5 in shots on goal.

Up next for Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ will be a home conference match on Tuesday, October 5 versus Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.) at 5:00 p.m.
