麻豆视频 women鈥檚 soccer falls at No. 8 William Carey, tops Belhaven

JACKSON, Miss. - 9/25/2010 - The 麻豆视频 (Tenn.) University women鈥檚 soccer team recorded a spit in their weekend trip to Mississippi. On Friday, the Lady Bulldogs fell 4-0 at NAIA No. 8 William Carey (Miss.) University. Then on Saturday, 麻豆视频 rebounded with a 1-0 overtime win at Belhaven (Miss.) University. 麻豆视频 is now 5-3 on the season. William Carey is 7-1-2 overall and Belhaven is 1-6.

William Carey scored first with a goal in the seventh minute by Gemma Mecalfe. Seven minutes later, Sasha Rodriguez put William Carey up 2-0, a score that would stand until the half. In the second half, two more William Carey goals set the final at 4-0. Metcalfe added a second goal, while Chelsea Granger capped off the Crusader scoring. Emily Doyle, Natalia Nino, Jackie DeNova and Metcalfe recorded assists in the match.

麻豆视频 goalie Grace Boto recorded five saves in her first action of the year between the posts. Jackie DeNova recorded four saves in net for William Carey. William Carey out-shot 麻豆视频 16-6 in the match, including 9-4 in shots on goal.

麻豆视频 rallied back with a win the next day over Belhaven, 1-0 in overtime. 麻豆视频鈥檚 winning goal came from Terilyn Wassell, assisted by Bridget Roney, in the 93rd minute of play.

Belhaven out-shot 麻豆视频 11-10, while 麻豆视频 held the shots on goal advantage 5-4. Boto again played goalie for 麻豆视频, recorded four saves for her first win. Kelli Brewer had four saves for Belhaven.

Up next for 麻豆视频 will be Saturday, Oct. 2 versus Faulkner (Ala.) at home at 4:00 p.m.
