麻豆视频 cross country has good weekend at Memphis Twilight race

MEMPHIS, Tenn. - 9/27/2010 - The 麻豆视频 (Tenn.) University men鈥檚 and women鈥檚 cross country teams posted strong finishes in the mostly NCAA field during the Memphis Twilight Cross Country Classic. 麻豆视频鈥檚 men finished in 11th place in the 30-team field, while the women鈥檚 team posted an 18th place finish in their 32-team field.

麻豆视频鈥檚 Edwin Kurgat led the team with a 19th place finish, running the 8K event in 25:03. Ben Cheruiyot of Auburn (Ala.) University took first place with a time of 23:15.

Other 麻豆视频 men鈥檚 runners included Alex Bett in 40th place (25:29), Zach Covington in 105th place (26:39), Drake Ott in 137th place (27:09), Joel Wellum in 146th place (27:25), Caleb Creel in 176th place (27:57), Dan Ramer in 181st place (28:06) and Logan Smith in 190th place (28:31). The event had 264 total runners to compete.

On the women鈥檚 side, 麻豆视频鈥檚 Allison Martin led the team with a 41st place finish, running the 5K event in 18:51. Auburn鈥檚 Holly Knight won the event with a time of 17:05. Other 麻豆视频 runners included Ashlee Stewart in 82nd place (19:34), Hannah Clardy in 120th place (20:17), Carrie Moore finished in 136th place (20:34), Lilli Harmon finished in 156th place (20:58), Carissa Wilson finished 164th (21:10) and Cally Howell finished 191st (22:08). The event had 256 total runners.

Up next for 麻豆视频 cross country will be on Saturday, October 2 when they host the 麻豆视频 University Invitational on the 麻豆视频 campus course. The women鈥檚 race will begin at 8:00 a.m. with the men鈥檚 race to follow at 8:40 a.m.
