MAYFIELD, Ky. - 9/23/2010 - The Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ (Tenn.) University volleyball team posted a 3-0 (25-20, 25-12, 25-9) win over Mid-Continent (Ky.) University. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ improved to 8-3 overall and 4-0 in the TranSouth. Mid-Continent dropped to 3-14 on the season and 0-7 in league play.
The first set was close most the way, before Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ pulled out to the 25-20 win. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ then cruised through the remainder of the match, only giving up a combined 21 points in the final two sets.
Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ was led by Anna Sims with seven kills, followed by Cassidy O’Hair and Caroline Robbins with six kills each. Emmie Moroski recorded 24 assists, Jami Humphries and Kelsey Duling led with three aces each, O’Hair and Shelby Swink led with three blocks each. Duling led with 11 digs.
Mid-Continent’s Katie Perry recorded a match-high 10 kills, while Lindsey Davis led with 22 assists.
Up next for Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ will be a road conference match on Monday, Sept. 27 at Lyon (Ark.).
