JACKSON, Tenn. - 9/20/2010 - Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ (Tenn.) University men’s soccer players and have been named the TranSouth Conference men’s soccer offensive and defensive players of the week respectively. These honors are for the week ending September 19, 2010.
Santos, a 5-foot-11 freshman midfielder from Anapolis, Brazil, scored two goals in a 3-1 victory over TranSouth foe Lyon (Ark.) on Saturday. Santos scored two goals in the first 26 minutes of the match and currently leads the Bulldogs with six goals on the season. This week marks the second time this season for Santos to win this award.
Landham, a 6-foot-2 junior goalkeeper from Henderson, Tenn., played 90 minutes in goal during the Bulldogs' victory over Lyon. He allowed one goal and saved three shots to help earn Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµâ€™s sixth victory of the year. This marked the second straight week that Landham was honored with this award.
Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ has opened the season 6-0, including five shutouts. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ is also 1-0 in the TranSouth.
