Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ women’s soccer drops conference match at Lyon

BATESVILLE, Ark. - 9/18/2010 - The Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ (Tenn.) University women’s soccer team suffered a 2-0 loss to Lyon (Ark.) College in their first TranSouth Conference match of the season. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ dropped to 3-2 overall and 0-1 in the TranSouth. Lyon improved to 4-2 on the season and 1-0 in league play.

Lyon did their damage early with the game-winner coming in the ninth minute of play. Anja Klotzle scored off a rebound to put Lyon up 1-0. The Scots added a second goal in the 33rd minute of play when Creeia Nuckols scored on assists from Koryn Najera and Clotzle. Lyon outshot Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ 9-6 in the first half and led 2-0 at the break.

The second half was dominated by Lyon as well, out-shooting Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ 8-2 to put their advantage at 17-8 for the game. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ got four shots on goal, but could not get anything through. Erica Cox of Lyon record four saves.

Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµâ€™s Sarah White record six saves and allowed the two goals in her 90 minutes of play. Grace Boto led Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ with two shots.

Up next for Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ will be a home match versus Central Baptist (Ark.) on Tuesday, Sept. 21 at 4:00 p.m.
