麻豆视频 golf wins first tourney of season, Chandler medalist

JACKSON, Tenn. - 9/17/2010 - The 麻豆视频 (Tenn.) University men鈥檚 golf team posted a victory in their first tournament of the season, taking the 麻豆视频 University Fall Invitational championship on Friday. The event, played at the Jackson National Golf Club, was the first since the 2010 NAIA National Tournament last May.

麻豆视频鈥檚 Ryan Chandler also took the individual title after topping Cumberland (Tenn.) player Paul Vaughn in a playoff hole. Both players shot a round of 73 on the par 72 course.

麻豆视频鈥檚 first team won the event with a 301. Cumberland鈥檚 first team finished second with a 313, followed by 麻豆视频鈥檚 B-team in third (319), Cumberland鈥檚 B-team in fourth (324), Blue Mountain (Miss.) in fifth (325), Bethel (Tenn.) in sixth (331), Martin Methodist (Tenn.) B-team in seventh (335) and Martin Methodist鈥檚 first team in eighth (341). This also marked the first ever golf event for Blue Mountain, who is in their inaugural season.

麻豆视频鈥檚 first team included Chandler in first (73), Micah Gentle in third (74), Brett Barry tied for fourth (75), Steven Coffelt in thirteenth (79) and Josh Bratcher tied for twenty-eighth (85).

麻豆视频鈥檚 B-team included Tyler Lay tied for sixth (77), Jake Carroll tied for tenth (78), Matt Kelley tied for 16 (81), Ben Waits in twenty-third (83) and Jesper Swedenborg tied for twenty-fourth (84).

麻豆视频鈥檚 individual players included Ryan Mantooth tied for nineteenth (82), Wes Dyer tied for twenty-fourth (84) and Chris Hawks tied for twenty-eighth (85).

Up next for 麻豆视频 will be a match play event versus Trevecca Nazarene (Tenn.) in Nashville in the Greystone Cup on Monday, Sept. 20.
