JACKSON, Tenn. - 9/14/2010 - Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ (Tenn.) University junior has been named the TranSouth Conference defensive player of the week for the week ending September 12, 2010.
Landham, a 6-foot-2 goalie from Hendersonville, Tenn., recorded his fourth shutout of the season in Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµâ€™s 2-0 win over Truett-McConnell (Ga.). Landham has four shutouts in four starts in goal. He has recorded five saves on the season.
Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ is off to a 5-0 start and has not allowed a goal all season. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµâ€™s best start to a season was 11-0 in 1999. Their current 5-0 start is fourth best the 13-year history of the program (11-0 in 1999, 7-0 in 2005, 6-0 in 2006) . The five shutouts to start the season is a program record, passing the previous of two straight in 2005. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµâ€™s record for total shutouts in a season is 10 in 2003.
Up next for Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ will be their first conference match of the season. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ plays at Lyon (Ark.) College on Saturday, Sept. 18.
