JACKSON, Tenn. - 9/3/2010 - The Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ (Tenn.) University men’s soccer team improved to 2-0 on the season with a 2-0 victory over Emmanuel (Ga.) College on Friday night. Emanuel dropped to 1-3 on the season.
Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ scored their first goal in the 27th minute on a fast break goal by Dejan Kostic with double assists going to Diego Santos and Sutton Shults. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµâ€™s defense did the rest, holding Emmanuel to just five total shots in the match. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ led 1-0 at the half and added an insurance goal in the 85th minute on a penalty kick from Allyson Mohl.
James Landham recorded three saves in his shutout effort in goal. His counterpart, Anel Lilic had four saves and two goals allowed in his 90 minutes.
Up next for Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ will be a home match versus Delta State (Miss.) University on Saturday, Sept. 4 at 7:00 p.m. These matches are a part of the Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ University Classic.
