麻豆视频鈥檚 Tashekia Brown Named TranSouth Co-Player of the Week

Jackson, Tenn. - 3/3/2003 - , a 6鈥1鈥 power forward from 麻豆视频 University and Sheri Brooks, a 6鈥1鈥 center from Berry College, are the TranSouth Conference women鈥檚 basketball Co-Players of the Week. Both players had key roles in their teams鈥 conference victories this week.

Brown is senior from Bradford, Tennessee. In 麻豆视频鈥檚 98-69 win against Martin Methodist College, she had 20 points, five rebounds, and two assists. In the Lady Bulldogs鈥 62-54 road win at No. 5 Freed-Hardeman University, which clinched the TranSouth regular season title for 麻豆视频, Brown had 14 points, eight rebounds, a block and a steal. For the week, Brown averaged 17.0 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 1.0 assists while shooting 14-of-25 (56%) from the field and 6-of-8 (75%) from the free throw line. Brown has helped 麻豆视频 to a 30-2 overall record, a 15-1 conference mark, a No. 3 national ranking by the NAIA, and a seventh straight TranSouth Conference regular season championship.

The TranSouth Tournament opens this week, with Berry College traveling to Lyon College and 麻豆视频 University hosting Lee University.
