Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµâ€™s Rudolph named NAIA All-American honorable mention

JACKSON, Tenn. - 6/4/2010 - , a senior on the Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ (Tenn.) University baseball team, earned a spot as an NAIA All-American honorable mention. Rudolph is a native of Memphis, Tenn. and helped No. 18 Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ to back-to-back NAIA National Tournament Opening Rounds.

Rudolph is the first Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ player to make the All-American list in baseball since Humboldt native Judson Powers did so in 2006.

Rudolph, 6-foot-4, 210 lb. outfielder, led Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ with a .429 batting average. He was also tops on the team with 66 runs, 85 hits, 19 doubles and five triples. Rudolph was second with eight home runs and just one off the pace with 59 RBI. His 23 stolen bases was second on the team as well. Rudolph recorded 37 walks to just 15 strikeouts in 198 at bats. He posted a .697 slugging percentage and a .543 on-base percentage.

Rudolph was a TranSouth first team all-conference selection this season, and was a second team all-conference player as a junior.

Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ advanced to their second straight NAIA Baseball National Tournament Opening Round. The team posted a 42-17 record and finished runner-up in the TranSouth regular season and tournament to only NAIA No. 2 Cumberland (Tenn.). Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ finished the season ranked No. 18 in the NAIA. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ reached as high as No. 12 which was the highest national ranking since a No. 8 ranking in 2002. The .712 (42-17) winning percentage this season was the best for Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ since a .741 (43-15) winning percentage in 2000.
