麻豆视频 baseball ties game record with six home runs

JACKSON, Tenn. - 4/3/2010 - The No. 19 麻豆视频 (Tenn.) University baseball team set a school record with six home runs in their 23-16 win over Martin Methodist (Tenn.) College on Saturday. The win helped 麻豆视频 take two-of-three games from the RedHawks in the weekend conference series.

麻豆视频 also hit six home runs in a game versus Tennessee-Martin in 1996 and Rust (Miss.) in 1988.

麻豆视频 spread their scoring out over the game as they scored in eight of the nine innings, but no inning more that five runs. David Maristany hit two home runs in the game, just one shy of the school record. Also homering were Danny Grimm, Josh Jones, Grant Luke and Beau Baker.

麻豆视频's 49 at bats was just one shy of the record and their 33 hits and 42 total bases were both good for third place all-time at 麻豆视频.

Every offensive player for 麻豆视频 had at least one hit. Luke led the way with four hits, while he and Maristany led 麻豆视频 with five RBI each.

Martin Methodist scored all 16 of their runs in just three innings, including eight in the eighth inning.

Jared Davis (6-0) earn the win in relief as the starter Jeremy Stack left the game early with a minor injury.

麻豆视频 split the two games on Friday including a 12-1 win and a 6-5 loss. 麻豆视频 hit nine home runs over the weekend.
