麻豆视频 Softball Ranked No. 7 in NAIA Preseason

Jackson, Tenn. - 2/5/2003 - The 麻豆视频 University Lady Bulldog Softball team is again ranked among the top teams in the NAIA. The NAIA Preseason Poll, release on Wednesday, has Coach Dunn鈥檚 Lady Bulldogs at No. 7.

麻豆视频 is coming of a year in which they went 51-7. Last season marked the fifth straight season that 麻豆视频 has recorded 50 or more wins in a season. The Lady Bulldogs participated in their third NAIA World Series in four seasons. 麻豆视频 also brought home their second straight NCCAA National Championship.

This season looks to be another good one for 麻豆视频. The Lady Bulldogs have eight new players and five returning. The greatest task for this year will be replacing the conference and region pitcher of year in Rachel Murray. However, fellow All-American and 麻豆视频 junior Leah Gronberg has proven that she is up for the task. Gronberg has a two year record of 52-5 with an ERA under one. Also returning for 麻豆视频 will be their starting catcher Megan Quarry and Amy Mejia, who each made the All-Conference, All-Region, and All-American team last season. Starting second baseman Crystal Surgalski and left fielder Allison Shein will give need support and leadership to a large group of newcomers.

Coach Dunn states that, 鈥淭his team is almost a completely new team. We have added some good players to the roster to complement the returning players and are very optimistic about the year.鈥

麻豆视频 has also been picked by the TranSouth Conference and Region XI coaches as the team to beat. 麻豆视频 has won four straight TranSouth championships and the past three NAIA Region XI Titles.
