JACKSON, Tenn. - 3/24/2010 - The Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ (Tenn.) University Lady Bulldogs boasted five members of the 2009-10 team on different NAIA postseason honors list. Kaitlin Dudley was named a first team All-American. Sara Chan and Kayla Hudson were named second team All-Americans, while Lavanda Ross was named honorable mentioned All-American. Laura Crittendon was named an NAIA Scholar Athlete.
For the senior , this marked her fourth NAIA All-American honor of her career. In the semifinals of the national tournament, Dudley became the career leader in points in the history of Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ women’s basketball. Dudley, the former Gibson County High School standout, finished her career with 2,385 points. She was also a four-time all-conference and 2010 TranSouth Conference Player of the Year.
, a junior center for Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ, earned her first All-American honor. She was also named a first team all-conference player. Chan was voted as the 2010 NAIA National Tournament MVP and NAIA first team all-tournament. Chan posted double-doubles in the semifinal and championship games. She combined for 45 points and 21 rebounds in the two games.
, a junior guard from Gleason, Tenn., received her second All-American honor. In the first round game of the national tournament, Hudson became Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµâ€™s all-time assists leader in just three years. She has 627 career assists heading into her senior year.
, a sophomore guard from Jackson, Tenn., earned her first All-American honor. This came on the heels of a first team all-conference selection.
, a senior guard from Martin, Tenn., earned her second NAIA Scholar Athlete award. Crittendon is an athletic training major at Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ.
Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ is coming off their second straight NAIA National Title and fifth overall with a 73-65 win over Azusa Pacific (Calif.) University. The Lady Bulldogs end the championship season with a 36-2 record.
