Â鶹ÊÓƵ golf third in Trevecca Nazarene Invitational

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - 3/23/2010 - The Â鶹ÊÓƵ (Tenn.) University golf team posted a third place finish in the Trevecca Nazarene (Tenn.) Spring Invitational. Â鶹ÊÓƵ had won two straight tournaments and three of their last four entering this event.

Â鶹ÊÓƵ shot a two-round score of 598, including a second day score of 291 and a first round of 307. Â鶹ÊÓƵ rallied from fifth place after round one to third, but could not overcome a rough first day. Cumberland (Tenn.) University won the event with a 589 score.

For Â鶹ÊÓƵ, Ryan Chandler finished second overall with a 143. Brett Barry was sixth (147), Mills Hamaguchi was 18th (153), Clay Mallard was 25th (155) and Micah Gentle was 28th (156).

Five other Â鶹ÊÓƵ golfers played on a Â鶹ÊÓƵ – B team that finished sixth in the eight team event. Jesper Swedenborg finished 13th (151), Jake Carroll was 22nd (154), Matt Kelley was 30th (159), David Hopper was 30th (159) and Wes Dyer was 36 (162).

Up next for Â鶹ÊÓƵ will be the Â鶹ÊÓƵ University Spring Invitational on April 2-3 at the Ross Creek Landing Golf Club in Clifton, Tenn.
