Hudson becomes Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµâ€™s career assists leader

JACKSON, Tenn. - 3/18/2010 - Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ (Tenn.) University junior guard Kayla Hudson became the program’s all-time assists leader in Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµâ€™s first round game of the 2010 NAIA DI Women’s Basketball National Championship. Hudson now has 614 career assists, passing the 611 assists dished out by Lisa Hutchens from 1979 to 1983.

Hudson needed just three assists entering the game to tie the record. She recorded six of Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµâ€™s 25 assists in the game. Hudson, the former Gleason, Tenn. standout, has been a named to the TranSouth All-Conference team in each of her three seasons, including a spot on the all-freshman team back in 2008. Hudson was named an NAIA All-American last season as a sophomore and is looking to earn that honor again this season.

Back on February 5 of this year, Hudson passed the 1,000 point mark for her career.

Over her almost three seasons, Hudson has accumulated 1,138 points, 614 assists, 290 rebounds and 472 made three pointers (45%). She is currently ranked No. 1 in the NAIA with a 3.2 assists-to-turnover ratio.
