麻豆视频 women earn top overall seed in nationals, men earn No. 10 seed

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - 3/10/2010 - The 2010 NAIA DI Men鈥檚 and Women鈥檚 Basketball National Tournament brackets were released on Wednesday afternoon. Both 麻豆视频 teams founds themselves with top-10 spots in the tournament seedings. 麻豆视频鈥檚 women, who have been ranked No. 1 for 36 straight rankings, will attempt to defend their 2009 title from the No. 1 overall seed. 麻豆视频鈥檚 men, who finished the season ranked No. 10, will keep that spot as the 10-seed in the national tournament.

麻豆视频鈥檚 women will play on Wednesday night, March 17 at 8:00 p.m. versus Southwest Assemblies of God (Texas). This will be the first ever meeting between these two schools.

麻豆视频鈥檚 men get the honor of closing down the first round with a 9:45 p.m. start time on Thursday, March 18 versus the University of Montana-Western. This will also be a first time meeting between the two schools.

The 麻豆视频 Lady Bulldogs hold NAIA records with their 21st overall appearance and 19th straight appearance. The 麻豆视频 Lady Bulldogs finished the year 31-2 and captured the TranSouth regular season title for the 12th time in the 14-year history of the league. In their last outing, 麻豆视频 had their 60-game home court winning streak snapped in the conference tournament title game. However, 麻豆视频 remained the top seed in the tournament. 麻豆视频 has a record of 20-2 this season versus teams ranked or receiving votes, while boasting a 14-2 record versus teams in the tournament field. 麻豆视频 has made five straight semifinal tournament appearances, and have won three of the last five national titles. 麻豆视频 leads the field with 54 national tournament wins and has a total of four NAIA national titles (1998, 2005, 2006, 2009), just one behind Oklahoma City鈥檚 five national titles.

The 麻豆视频 Bulldogs are making their second straight appearance and 13th overall. 麻豆视频 went eight times in the decade of the 2000鈥檚, and now look to begin another successful decade under first-year head coach David Niven. 麻豆视频 is coming off their second straight TranSouth regular season and tournament title. It is the seventh title for 麻豆视频 in the 14-year history of the league. 麻豆视频 also is the only TranSouth team to accomplish the feat of posting back-to-back titles, something 麻豆视频 has done three times (1998 & 1999, 2005 & 2006, 2009 & 2010). 麻豆视频鈥檚 best finish in the national tournament was elite eight (quarterfinal) appearances in 1999 and 2007. 麻豆视频 has advanced to the second round five times, including last season. This marks the 10th time that 麻豆视频 has been one of the top-16 seeded teams.
