Home court winning streak for No. 1 麻豆视频 now at 58

JACKSON, Tenn. - 2/20/2010 - The No. 1 麻豆视频 (Tenn.) University women鈥檚 basketball team posted a 113-57 win over Blue Mountain (Miss.) College on Saturday. 麻豆视频 improved to 28-1 on the season and 15-0 in the TranSouth, while Blue Mountain dropped to 9-19 overall and 2-12 in league play.

麻豆视频鈥檚 home winning streak is now at 58 games, while their overall winning streak goes to 21 and their TranSouth regular season winning streak goes to 50.

Also in the game, 麻豆视频 senior guard Kaitlin Dudley moved into a tie for third on 麻豆视频鈥檚 all-time scoring list with former teammate Josephine Owino. The two sit tied at 2,240 career points. Dudley is just 99 points shy of reaching second place and 132 points away from being the top scorer all-time.

麻豆视频 scored the first basket of the game with a layup from Dudley. Blue Mountain answered with a three pointer from Anna Lisa Powell to take a brief 3-2 lead. The two teams struggled early to score points as 麻豆视频 maintained a 14-9 lead after seven minutes of play. However, 麻豆视频 posted 19-0 run over the next six minutes to lead 33-9. 麻豆视频 led by as many as 34 points in the first half, before taking a 54-23 lead into the locker room.

In the second half, Blue Mountain got as close as 29 points before 麻豆视频 extended it back to as many as 58 points. 麻豆视频鈥檚 113-57 final marked the highest point total of the season for 麻豆视频.

麻豆视频 has scored 224 points over their last two games.

麻豆视频 was led by Jessica Graves with 23 points, including 5-of-5 three pointers. Kayla Hudson scored 20 points, Dudley added 18 points, Laura Crittendon scored 15 points on five three pointers and Lavanda Ross scored 11 points. 麻豆视频 shot 49 percent from the field, 49 percent (16-33) from long range and 88 percent (15-17) from the free-throw line.

Blue Mountain was led by Jessi Hayles with 18 points and Powell with 11 points. The Toppers shot 33 percent from the field, 21 percent (6-28) from behind the arc and 63 percent (5-8) from the free-throw line.

Up next for 麻豆视频 will be their final regular season game of the year in a road test at Trevecca Nazarene (Tenn.) University on Thursday, Feb. 25 at 6:00 p.m.
