麻豆视频 softball splits season opener at Christian Brothers

MEMPHIS, Tenn. - 2/18/2010 - The 麻豆视频 (Tenn.) University softball posted a split in their season opening double-header at Christian Brothers (Tenn.) University on Thursday. 麻豆视频 took the opener 2-0, before falling in game two 5-4. 麻豆视频 is 1-1 while Christian Brothers is 1-3 on the season.

麻豆视频 and Christian Brothers played to a scoreless tie going into the top of the seventh inning. 麻豆视频 scored on a two-run homer from Brooke Thomas. Thomas also pitched a complete game shutout on the mound with six strikeouts for her first college win.

In game two, 麻豆视频 fell behind 5-0 as Christian Brothers scored two in the first and three more in the third inning. 麻豆视频 began to rally with one run in the fourth, a two-run homer by Stephanie Saunders in the fifth and single run in the sixth inning. But 5-4 was as close as 麻豆视频 got. 麻豆视频 made four errors in the game and allowed three homeruns to the Lady Bucs. Hailee Edwards took the loss with two innings of work, allowing four runs, two earned.

麻豆视频 will play two games each over the next two days at home. 麻豆视频 host the University of Missouri-St. Louis and William Woods (Mo.) University for games on Friday and Saturday.
