30 straight No. 1 rankings for Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµâ€™s women, men still No. 18 in NAIA

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - 1/18/2010 - The Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ (Tenn.) University Lady Bulldogs remain in the No. 1 spot of the latest NAIA national rankings. This marks the 30th straight poll that Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ has been in this spot. The Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ men’s basketball team remain the No. 18 team in the country.

Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµâ€™s (14-5) men have posted a 6-1 record since the Christmas break, including perfect 5-0 start to the TranSouth Conference season. This past week, Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ posted wins versus Lyon (Ark.) and at Freed-Hardeman. The Bulldogs remain atop the TranSouth standings.

On the women’s side, Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµâ€™s week included big wins over Lyon and then No. 6 Freed-Hardeman. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµâ€™s home winning streak currently sits at 53 straight games, while their TranSouth regular season win streak is now at 40 straight wins. The Lady Bulldogs are winners of 11 straight games, pushing their record to 18-1 overall and 5-0 in league play. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ has won three straight conference players of the week, with Sara Chan earning each of the last two. Kaitlin Dudley earning the first of the calendar year.

The Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ men and women have remaining games this week at Cumberland (Tenn.) University on Thursday and at Blue Mountain (Miss.) College on Saturday.
