No. 18 麻豆视频 holds on for an 84-75 win at Freed-Hardeman

HENDERSON, Tenn. - 1/16/2010 - The No. 18 麻豆视频 University Bulldogs notched a big road win on Saturday with an 84-75 victory at Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.) University. 麻豆视频 improved to 13-5 overall and 4-0 in the TranSouth. Freed-Hardeman dropped to 8-7 on the season and 1-1 in league play.

This match up featured the TranSouth preseason co-players of the year in 麻豆视频鈥檚 Greg Truvillion and Freed-Hardeman鈥檚 Zach Frey. The two did not disappoint as both led their teams in scoring with Truvillion posting 24 points and Frey getting 21 points.

Freed-Hardeman opening the game with a 10-0 run. After 麻豆视频 finally broke into the scoring column four minutes into the game, the Bulldogs answered with a 10-0 run to tie the game. A 3-pointer from Samuel Danache gave 麻豆视频 their first lead 13-12 at the 9:58 left in the half.

Over the remainder of the half, the lead changed hands three times along with two ties. Freed-Hardeman pushed their lead to four points at the half, 29-25.

In the second half, Freed-Hardeman maintained a small lead until Greg Truvillion made 1-of-2 free throws to tie the game at 35-35 with 14:38 left in the game. Over the next two minutes, the game featured five ties and six lead changes until a basket by Tacuma Alexander gave 麻豆视频 a 45-43 lead. The Bulldogs never trailed again.

麻豆视频 held a slim 56-55 lead with 7:03 left, but thanks to a 14-5 run over the next five minutes, the Bulldogs built their largest lead at 72-60. 麻豆视频 made 10-of-16 free throws over the final two minutes to secure the 84-75 win.

麻豆视频 was led by Truvillion鈥檚 24 points, including two three pointers and 10 made free throws. Antoine Joseph added 17 points, Stan McNeil scored 13 points and Alexander added 12 points. Alexander and McNeil combined for 10-of-12 shooting from the free-throw line in the game. 麻豆视频 shot 52 percent from the field, 44 percent (7-16) from behind the arc and 63 percent (31-49) from the charity strip.

Freed-Hardeman鈥檚 Frey led the way with 21 points. Ken Bingham added 19 points. The Lions shot 38 percent from the field, 21 percent (6-28) from behind the arc and 73 percent (11-26) from the free-throw line.

Up next for 麻豆视频 will be a home conference game on Monday, January 18 versus Mid-Continent (Ky.) University at 8:00 p.m.
