麻豆视频鈥檚 Alexander named TranSouth player of the week

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - 1/4/2010 - of the No. 19 麻豆视频 (Tenn.) University Bulldogs has been named the TranSouth men鈥檚 basketball Player of the Week for the week ending January 3, 2010.

Alexander, a 6-foot-3 senior guard from Memphis, Tenn., helped 麻豆视频 to a win in their only game of the week. Alexander posted a game-high 24 points in 麻豆视频鈥檚 76-68 at (RV) Campbellsville (Ky.) on Saturday. His 24 points was just one point shy of his career high. Alexander scored nine points in the final six minutes of play, including four-of-four from the free throw line, to help seal 麻豆视频鈥檚 win. He also posted one rebound, two assists and two steals in the contest. Alexander shot 67 percent from the field, 50 percent (2-4) from behind the arc and 100 percent (6-6) from the free throw line in the game.

麻豆视频 is 9-4 on the season and has won seven of their last nine games. 麻豆视频 plays Monday night versus William Carey (Miss.) in their final non-conference game of the regular season. 麻豆视频 will begin defending their 2009 TranSouth title in Thursday night when they host Bethel (Tenn.).
